Esma Güzin Yarıcı graduated from Galatasaray University with a sociology degree in 2020, then continued her studies within the academia at Sabanci University in Cultural Studies program. Previously she had worked in the humanitarian sector and joined various projects as a volunteer such as "Media Watch on Hate Speech" at Hrant Dink Foundation. At the moment, her academic interests are mainly focused on the meeting point of queer and migration studies. Her main motivation to pursue studies in this field comes from her enthusiasm for building bridges between academia and activism through a feminist lens. At the moment she is writing her master's thesis about the solidarity stories between Turkiyeli activists and queer migrants in Turkey, and also actively engaged with the Aman Project as a caseworker in the French Visa Program.
